Teva Closes Phase III Trial Enrollment for Laquinimod
Monday December 8, 2008
Teva Pharmaceutical announced that its phase III clinical trial of laquinimod (called the "allegro" study) is now fully enrolled. Laquinimod is a drug treatment for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis that is in the final stage of FDA testing. Teva hopes that laquinimod will prove safe and more effective than Avonex.
Laquinimod is a daily oral (that's right, oral) medication for disease modification in relapsing-remitting MS. In the phase II trial, laquinimod reduced active disease in by 60% according to MRI scans.

Hi Julie,
I wanted to notify you that while the Phase III Allegro trial is currently closed for recruitment, Teva is still actively recruiting patients for another Phase III clinical trial for laquinimod called BRAVO.
